Every day, all across this country, we see young Canadians making a positive difference in their communities. In Markham-Stouffville, I have met young people serving at community festivals, engaging in creative local art projects, and contributing at their schools as leaders.
This is the kind of youth leadership that we hope to inspire with Canada Service Corps, Canada’s new national youth service initiative. We want to encourage even more young Canadians to get involved in their community through service, while at the same time gaining valuable skills and experience that they will carry with them throughout their lives.
There are also grant opportunities: to provide young Canadians with access to funding for service-related projects, and to help eligible organizations launch innovative local and regional projects to engage young people in meaningful service opportunities. The deadline organizational applications is March 13, 2018.
